Vestibular Therapy

Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is a specialized type of physical therapy used to treat vestibular disorders. It often includes manual head maneuvers plus a progressive program to reduce vertigo, dizziness, visual problems, imbalance, and falls. Treatment combines expert clinical evaluation with customized plans that address both the physical and neurological components of symptoms, with personalized home exercises to support recovery.

Treatment for dizziness, vertigo, and balance problems

Your vestibular system — the inner-ear sensors and the brain circuits that read them — tells you where your head is in space. When it's disrupted by BPPV, vestibular neuritis, concussion, or age-related decline, the result is vertigo, dizziness, unsteadiness, and falls. Vestibular rehabilitation retrains that system through targeted repositioning maneuvers, gaze-stabilization exercises, and progressive balance training.

BPPV — the sudden, room-spinning vertigo triggered by rolling over in bed or looking up — is often resolvable in a small number of visits with canalith repositioning maneuvers performed by a trained therapist.

What an evaluation involves

We assess your eye movements, positional responses, gait, and balance systems to identify which component is driving your symptoms, then build a plan around it. Because dizziness has many causes, we screen carefully — and if your presentation suggests something outside our scope, we'll route you to the right physician promptly. Balance and falls work is also a core part of how we help older adults across the Panhandle stay active and independent.
