Manual Therapy

Manual therapy at Limitless is a hands-on cornerstone of advanced orthopedic care, delivered by Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapists (COMT) Dr. Christa D'Egidio and Dr. Al Starlings. It includes techniques such as joint mobilizations, soft tissue release, and neural mobilization to reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function. Rather than a passive approach, it is highly individualized and integrated into a full plan of care with strength work, movement retraining, and education.

The Payoff

How it helps

  • Reduced pain and improved mobility
  • Care from Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapists (held by less than 5% of PTs nationwide)
  • Ongoing staff training via monthly manual therapy labs
  • Integrated, research-based, individualized care
  • Restored function and long-term recovery

Skilled hands-on treatment

Manual therapy is the hands-on side of physical therapy: joint mobilization and manipulation, soft tissue work, muscle energy techniques, and assisted stretching. It's used to restore motion in stiff joints, calm overactive muscle tone, and reduce pain so you can move — and load — the way your rehab plan requires.

Both of our lead therapists are Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapists (COMT), an advanced post-doctoral credential in these techniques. Manual therapy at Limitless is never the whole plan — it opens a window of better motion and less pain, and we use that window to build strength that makes the change permanent.

When manual therapy helps most

Stiff, painful necks and backs, frozen shoulder, joints that haven't moved well since an old injury or surgery, headaches driven by neck dysfunction, and flare-ups where pain is too high to exercise productively — these respond especially well to hands-on treatment paired with corrective exercise. Most patients feel a measurable difference in motion within the first few visits.
